100% of the proceeds from this track go to families in Gaza. I'd been wanting to release another track to raise funds for the victims of Israel's genocide in Palestine when I came across the artwork of Saleh Atia on Instagram. He makes very powerful and simple to understand depictions of daily life under occupation, and is focused on raising awareness about what is going on in this place that has been cut off from communication with the outside world.
I wrote to him and asked if he would like to provide a piece for the cover art to do a fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders or the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund, and he said that resources from big organizations never make it to people on the ground, and just sending the money directly to families is the most helpful thing to do. This squares with what I have heard elsewhere. Saleh is going to facilitate distributing funds, as he's based in Germany but his family and friends are in Gaza.
When we discussed what he might make, I said to go with the first thing he thought of when listening, and his immediate response was the quadcopter drones—I didn't know about these—that film people through their apartment windows all day and keep them up at night with all of the buzzing.
This piece is not pleasant to listen to, but it is not supposed to be.
